Abstract

In this essay on date #1, we reconstruct central passages of the school internship documentation of the student N. B.. Based on our analysis, we state that a professional reflection on practice does not necessarily arise in the school internship and that problematic situations can remain unrecognised. Therefore, we firstly question the reasons why problematic situations do not become the subject of reflection in the internship, even if this is the stated aim of school internships? And secondly, we ask, how it can be possible to initiate professional reflection on problematic situations and how university or school supervision during the internship contribute to this? With reference to the case, assumptions are made as to why there was no professional reflection on practice in this internship case. Following the case interpretations, four variants of practice reflection (or non-reflection) are distinguished and we conceptualize first ideas on a reflection model. Finally, this model is related to the case and it is exemplified how it can be applied. With the help of the model - as far as the hypothesis goes - it should be possible to enable professional reflection even under adverse circumstances and in problematic situations.
